Returns

RETURNS POLICY

We accept returns or exchanges within 30 days of purchase. To be eligible for a return or exchange, your item must be unused, washed or worn and in the same condition that you received it. Cakes and Gift Cards may not be returned or exchanged.

To initiate a return or exchange:

Please send an email including your order number, what you’d like to return and why you are returning your item(s) within 30 days of purchase to shop@blackstarpastry.com.au 

We will respond to your email with instructions for return. Returns will be processed within 3 business days of receipt. Shipping costs for returns are the responsibility of the customer, except in the case of faulty items.

REFUNDS

Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you via email that we have received your return. We will also notify you of the details of your refund if applicable. If you are approved for a refund, a credit will be applied to the original card used to purchase.

SALE ITEMS

Please note that only regular priced items may be returned or exchanged. Sale items are unable to be returned.

FAULTY ITEMS

If an item you receive is faulty, please contact us at shop@blackstarpastry.com.au with details of the faulty item and to arrange return via post. If the item is deemed to have a manufacturing fault, a replacement will be issued. A refund will be issued if we cannot replace your item(s). Claims must be made within 30 days of purchase date. Return postage of items with manufacturing faults will be covered by Black Star Pastry.

GIFTS

Exchanges or returns for items given as gifts must be completed by the purchaser/gift giver.

LATE OR MISSING REFUNDS

Please allow up to 10 business days for your refund to be processed through the original payment method. If you don’t receive your refund after 10 business days of confirmation, please contact us at shop@blackstarpastry.com.au.

AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW

The Australian Consumer Law (ACL) protects consumers by giving them certain guaranteed rights when they buy goods and services. For example, the ACL requires that goods must be free of defects and do what they are meant to do. Services must be carried out with care and skill. These rights, which the ACL says automatically apply whenever goods or services are supplied to a consumer, are called ‘Consumer Guarantees’.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and failure does not amount to a major failure.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item, except in the case of faulty product exchanges.

If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don't guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
